Your family is our family. With respite care we can lend a helping hand when you need it most.
Respite care is designed to provide caregivers with a much-needed and much deserved break. While providing care for a loved one can be incredibly rewarding, it can also take a physical and emotional toll on the caregiver. An occasional respite break benefits the caregiver, helping them to avoid burnout. A stronger, healthier caregiver in turn provides better care to their loved one.
By placing a loved one in respite care, a caretaker is provided with a worry-free solution to being able to take a vacation, attend a work-related trip, or simply take a break from 24-hour/7-days-a-week care. Whether for a day or several days, caregivers can leave their loved ones knowing they are in good hands.
A resident admitted for a respite stay is entitled to all of the same amenities as a full-time resident. Caretakers are reprieved of their duties for a while, and our skilled and caring staff of nurses, dietitians, activity coordinators, and others assume the care for a short time. In order to assure peace of mind for both the resident and the caretaker, our staff will be sure to go over all of the pertinent medical, physical, and emotional needs upon admission for a respite stay.
An additional benefit to respite care is that it gives the senior an opportunity to assess a care community, should the need for an alternative living arrangement arise in the future.
Respite care is available pending bed availability in all of our centers. Placement for more than 21 days per incident is considered a regular resident admission.
